Argyris Kounadis (Greek \u0391\u03c1\u03b3\u03cd\u03c1\u03b7\u03c2 \u039a\u03bf\u03c5\u03bd\u03ac\u03b4\u03b7\u03c2, first name also transcribed Arghyris; born February 14, 1924 in Istanbul, \u2020 November 22, 2011 in Freiburg im Breisgau [1]) was a Greek composer.<\/p>\n

Kounadis studied piano and composition in Athens with Yannis Papaioannou and from 1958 to 1962 in Freiburg im Breisgau with Wolfgang Fortner. Since 1963 he was a lecturer at the Freiburg University of Music and head of the Ensemble for New Music in Freiburg. He composed several operas, a symphonietta, a piano concerto, a rhapsody for female voice and orchestra, works with chamber musicians and film music.<\/p>\n
