NGC 2996 is a lenticular galaxy in the Hydra constellation, located approximately 250 million light-years away. It is characterized by visible signs of past galactic interactions, including tidal tails, streams, and a small bluish knot indicating remnants of star formation. It has a magnitude of 10.017 and was discovered in 1835.
