Grant Green
Grant Green (June 6, 1935 – January 31, 1979) was an American jazz guitarist and composer. Green has been called one of the “most sampled guitarists.” For most of 1978 Grant was in the hospital and against the advice of doctors, went back on the road to earn money. While in New York City to play an engagement at George Benson‘s Breezin’ Lounge, he collapsed in his car after a heart attack and died on January 31, 1979.
