The planetary nebula NGC 6894 was discovered by William Herschel on 17^th July 1784. With an angular diameter of around 40 arc minutes, it appears about as large as Jupiter, but is much fainter: around 14 magnitudes. The distance is about 1669 pc (about 5400 light years).
